Marvel Family Motivational by Shadow-DJ Marvel Family Motivational by Shadow-DJ
OK, after catching up with the New 52, I discovered that the five other members of the 'SHAZAM Kids' from Flashpoint are now given the possibility to be Shazam's new Captain Marvel Family. In this family are the following:

Mary Bromfield (In the original comics, she is Billy's twin (or younger, depending on the continuity) sister who was seperated from his parents. Not srie if that's the case here)
Freddy Freeman (A crippled young man who uses canes to mvoe around. He was Captain Marvel Jr. in the original comics and took over for Billy for awhile)
Pedro Pena: An overweight, shy Latino kid who was the possessor of the Strength of Hercules in the Flashpoint comics.
Eugine Choi: A very intelligent young man who once held the Wisdom of Solomon in the Flashpoint comics.
and Darla Dudley: A highly energetic girl who is very kind to her adopted siblings and was excited when Billy first arrived, and was the weilder of the Speed of Mercury in the Flashpoint comics.

In all, these five could be really interesting characters if they return as Mary Marvel, Captain Marvel (In case Freddy is meant to be this universe's Captain Marvel) and the Lieutenants.

I own none of these characters, they are all property of DC Comics.

Pedro seems to be Fat's replacement, Darla is hill's replacement and Eugene is tall's (just by looking, and Darla's heapin' helpin' of hospitality) also that's better than Billy Batson to the 4th.

That's what I think.

All six of them WERE parts of 'Captain Thunder'...though I wouldn't mind seeing that these six were protecting the city they live in :P

This is probably one of the few things about the new Captain Marvel from the New 52 that I don't mind. The extended interracial adopted family that is completely loving thing may seem kind of stupid, (in the sense that it is too sweet and unlikely) but I think it completely fits in into the Captain Marvel mythos. A lot of the older comics had concepts just like this. Personally I think any one of those kids is more worthy of being Captain Marvel then the New 52 Billy.

I think these kids are going to be a good influence on billy however. OK, Freddy is only good at being a role model on how to be nice (Since he IS a pick pocket here), but the others can easily help him get over his angsty character and become the nice kid he is able to become (which was why he was chosne: Because of his age, he CAN become a better person than Black Adam did)

Yeah, but for me Billy is meant to be the kid who try's to fight hate with love. He lives the worst type of life and still acts good through and through. For Geoff Johns to have him say: "There is no such thing as a good person" is absolutely terrible. Still, I am happy he at least tried to reason with Black Adam and show him love, but I still hate what Johns is doing to the character.

I think Johns is having that be his old philosophy, given he's been through a lot of foster homes...and from what I can guess, they were NOT the best places for a kid to grow up in. So now that he is with genuenly nice people, he's not used to it like he would have been before. I Guess the development of his character IS to have him slowly become a good person as well.

Heck, it showed he was becoming nicer when he wanted to put Black Adam's Ashes to rest in his home country. If he was like he ws WAY before the development he had so far (The version I think you're talking about), I don't think he'd be that thoughtful.

... And once he finally DOES grow into that kind, good-hearted, and truly heroic character that we all know and love(i.e.: the character we should've been reading about from the start!) Johns, or some other writer, will find some way and/or reason to throw all of that development in the garbage and turn Billy back into the apathetic, angsty, and arrogant dickhole of a punk that we were all subjected to from the beginning.

It's DC and the new 52, the company that killed-off Lian Harper for absolutely no reason(and then wiped her whole existence from continuity) and the continuity that had Superman and Wonder Woman get into a relationship without any real build-up or chemistry, you know they'd screw-over Captain Marvel(I refuse to call him "Shazam," because that's the wizard, not Billy) without any second thoughts!

I think it's likely he'd become a good hero. he is inexperienced at the moment.

But that's such a common story, I feel like Johns is robbing Billy of what makes him special.
